I Love NY
The way I think about New York is this:
Imagine, standing still. Just ahead of you, is a conveyer belt, crammed with people. People of all shapes and sizes, many of whom encourage you to hop on with them (even though they might be speaking a language you don’t understand). Some stick out their hands as they pass by. This conveyer belt, it’s traveling pretty quickly. There aren’t a lot of opportunities to jump on. You just have to find your chance - and leap.

All of a sudden, you’re whirling around, not sure where you’re headed. Everything around you is a blur. Ahead of you, the belt splits in a million different directions, you just have to pick one. Blindly, you choose a path. It takes you through some twists and turns, but once you emerge out of them, you realize there are a million more paths to choose from. So many opportunities.
What’s great about New York, is that despite all the stereotypes of being hard-nosed and fast-paced and in-your-face, the city accepts you, unconditionally - as long as you’re willing to accept it, too. New York makes no apologies for what it is, but it doesn’t need to. Thriving, cosmopolitan, beautiful, so many adjectives to describe it, yet none do it justice. New York is the best city in the world.
I am not a New Yorker by birth but it’s hard not to feel a bond with this place. And on this day, every year since 2001 and every year that lies ahead, we are all New Yorkers.

I love NY.
