Note to self: It’s okay to unplug sometimes

Recently, I got to shake hands with Barack Obama. It was a moment I’ll never forget, thanks in part to the footage I took with my iPhone as it happened. But after the moment passed and I had time to reflect, I realized that I hadn’t truly committed all of my energy to enjoying the experience. Instead, I was concerned about capturing it on video and through photos. And, when it comes down to it, the experience wasn’t quite as true, pure, genuine, or memorable as it could have been had I not been focused on my phone.

Just food for thought - something to consider when in the midst of life’s memorable moments.
